Technopark employees receiving Malabar express on 31st Jan @ 6:00 pm @ Kazhakoottam Railway station
Collective action yields results, that is the take away from recent granting of temporary stops for long distance trains @ kazhakoottam . Janakeeya samara samithi was in forefront of the struggle. Janakeeya samithi for kazhakoottam railway station development had politicians of all hues and colors. Despite of the immense commercial potential of the station and people resorting to all sort of protest methods such as dharna’s, Signature campaigns, memorandum’s to authorities, poster campaigns etc. nothing happened.
Prathidhwani – A socio cultural organization of technopark which represents largest beneficiary group of kazhakkoottam railway station ie technopark employees joined the struggle in a decisive manner. Apart from joining the conventional methods of protest, prathidhwani produced a short film – Liberators, which came as a cultural intervention for a people’s issue. Almost all media reported this news in a big manner and the struggle got a renewed attention. Prathidhwani is happy that it’s humble contribution also played a role in highlighting a vital issue.
Prathidhwani is planning a reception of the Malabar express on 31st Jan @ 6:35pm in railway station. Dignitaries such as Mr M Vasudevan, Senior Manager, Technoaprk , Janakeeya Samithi Leaders and railway authorities will be present.
We welcome all technopark employees to this function to share happiness and give away our token of appreciation to railway. Please be available for the function at 06:00pm at Kazhakoottam railway station.
We feel , it is just the first step towards expansion of railway station with immense potential as technopark phase -3 is also inaugurated , utilizing the trains effectively such as booking tickets from this station and to this station can make the stoppage’s a permanent one.Railway authorities are constantly monitoring the volume of traffic here, so we urge technopark employees to diligently exercise this for our cause.Increased Patronage of the railway station will make a big difference . We still have unfulfilled demands such as stop for trains through Alappuzha route, Extra Reservation window for thatkal , better facilities at station, connecting KSRTC bus from station to town/attingal etc. We should unitedly continue our struggle for this.
