UST Global installed Global Positioning System (GPS)-based tracking system in cabs

Technopark-based UST Global has installed Global Positioning System (GPS)-based tracking system in the company’s cabs in a bid to ensure the safety and security of its employees. UST Global’s new employee-friendly feature ensures added safety to all its employees who use the pick and drop facility. All company cabs are tracked real-time using GPS tracking. A ‘Panic button’ is also provided within the cab. Image removed. In the case of an emergency situation, employees can press the panic button which would trigger an automated SMS to the Real Estate and Facility Management (REFM) team and alert them. The panic buttons are placed on the top of the rear seats. These apart, in case of over speeding (above 80 kmph) by cab drivers, an automated message will be triggered to the REFM team, who is behind this new development. The new feature will also help UST Global to detect any abrupt breaking of the vehicle and potential dangerous driving by the drivers. “In addition to making employees feel secure, we also ensure adherence to the traffic laws by our cab drivers,’’ said Hema Menon, Centre Head, UST Global, Thiruvananthapuram. Image removed. UST Global is mulling implementation of the same facility in other centres too without much delay, she said.
