The office of the commissioner of the food safety on Tuesday sealed a popular juice joint 'Passion Fruit' at technopark following complaint from a techie who was served blood stained plaster in the falooda. IT professional Vibhu Balan never thought he would have such an experience, when he decided to hangout with his friends at his regular juice joit to beat the summer heat. "I was shocked when I found a blood stained band-aid in the falooda. If it was something else I would have ignored.
This was totally unacceptable. When I complained they were ready to repay the bill, I informed food safety autherities," said Vibhu.
Food safety assistant commissioner(Intelligence) A Satheesh kumar, who carried out the inspection, said that the juice joint was functioning in unhygienic condition, the joint was functioning without a licence and they will not be allowed to reopen without the permission from the food safety assistant commission,"said Mr Satheesh Kumar.
Similar incidents are increasing in technopark. Last week in Tejaswini food court "Bawarchi" restaurant is asked to keep closed because of some food poison happened for employees who had prawns biriyani from the restaurant.
Prathidhwani request authorities for strict and regular inspections in restaurants inside technopark in a regular basis. Otherwise these incidents will occur regularly. Employees are forced to take food from these restaurants because of lack of other options. Technopark level food committee should be formed, which should do regular inspection of kitchen’s and should devise a mechanism for unchecked increase of prices. There is also no standardization of food quantities, there are outlets which serve tea in spoon sizes.
Also we request to consider below suggestions to check “ lack of quality food in reasonable prices”
1. An "Indian coffee house" restaurant inside technopark.
2. A “Café Kudumbasree” in technopark.
3. Provision of Poojappura Jail food during lunch time and in evenings
