Prathidhwani Qisa, the prestigious film festival of IT employees in Kerala that has been attracting film lovers across the state, is now inviting entries from the IT community across the country. The short film festival conducted by PRATHIDHWANI – The Welfare Organization of IT Employees in Kerala is stepping into its 9th edition this year. Since 2019, Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival (PQFF) has been the de-facto platform to showcase film talent by employees from over 250 IT companies in Kerala including the Technopark, Infopark and Cyber Park.
More than 300 short films by techies have been premiered at the PQFF over the past several years. The winners were awarded by acclaimed film personalities such as Sri Shaji N Karun (2012), Sri Vineeth Srinivasan (2013), Sri Adoor Gopalakrishnan (2014), Sri Shyamaprasad (2015), Sri Jayaraj (2016), Sri. Dileesh Pothen (2017), Amal Neerad (2018) and Khalid Rahman (2019).
This year, the film festival will be held online. The last date for submitting the entries for PQFF '20 will be Thursday, 10th December 2020. The date of the screening will be announced shortly.
The Best Film will receive a cash award of Rs 11, 111/-. The second Best Film, the Best Script and the Best Director, each will receive a cash award of Rs 5,555/-. The Best Actor - Male, the Best Actor - Female, Cinematographer and Editor will receive special awards. All winners will also receive mementoes.
To participate in the fest the Director of the short film must be an employee of an IT firm in India. The running time of the film should be between 3 to 45 minutes. Short films that had participated in the previous editions of the Qisa film festivals will not be eligible to participate this year. Detailed rules and regulations are given below.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival (PQFF '20) will be held online.

- The competition is open to all IT employees across India
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഐടി ജീവനക്കാർക്ക് ഈ മേളയുടെ ഭാഗമാകാവുന്നതാണ്
- The Director of the short film must be an employee of an IT firm in India. The Director must submit a passport size photo and a valid proof of employment, preferably a letter from the HR.
ചിത്രത്തിൻറെ സംവിധായകൻ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന ഐടി ജീവനക്കാർ ആയിരിക്കണം, ചിത്രത്തിൻറെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പൂർണമായും മേളയുടെ കമ്മിറ്റിയിൽ അധിഷ്ടിതം ആയിരിക്കും. സമർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രത്തോടൊപ്പം സംവിധായകൻ ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന കമ്പനിയിലെ സാക്ഷ്യപത്രം, ഒരു പാസ്പോർട്ട് സൈസ് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫ് എന്നിവ കൂടെ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതാണ്.
- The short films can be of any genre.
ഏത് ഗണത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ചിത്രവും സബ്മിറ്റ് ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്
- The films can be documentary, experimental, narrative, fiction, docu-fiction or animation.
പ്രദർശനത്തിനായി ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ Soft Copy സമർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്
- All submissions must be the intellectual property of the submitters & must have permission for use of all content rights including music contained in the film. Prathidhwani or Prathidhwani Film Club or PQFF ‘20 is not responsible for unauthorized use of any copyrighted material.
ചിത്രങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം തന്നെ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നയാളുടെ ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തായിരിയ്ക്കണം കൂടാതെ സിനിമയിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന സംഗീതം ഉൾപ്പെടെ എല്ലാ ഉള്ളടക്ക അവകാശങ്ങളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിന് അനുമതികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. പകർപ്പവകാശമുള്ള ഏതെങ്കിലും മെറ്റീരിയലിന്റെ അനധികൃത ഉപയോഗത്തിന് പ്രതിധ്വനി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രതിധ്വനി ഫിലിം ക്ലബ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പിക്യുഎഫ്എഫ് 2020 ഉത്തരവാദിയല്ല.
- The running time of the short films should not be less than 3 minutes excluding titles and credits and should not exceed 45 minutes.

- The short films can be in any language. However, films other than English or Malayalam must be subtitled in English.
ഏതു ഭാഷയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളും സമർപ്പിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മലയാളം ഒഴികെയുള്ള ഭാഷകളിലുള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് സബ്ടൈറ്റിൽസ് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
- Only films produced after 1st January 2019 will be eligible to participate. Films screened during the previous editions of PQFF are not eligible to contest.
ജനുവരി 1, 2019 ന് ശേഷം നിർമ്മിച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേ പരിഗണിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ, കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷങ്ങളിൽ ക്വിസ ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടും പരിഗണിക്കുകയില്ല.
- There is a web series competition category as well. To contest, submit a minimum of 3 episodes each with a duration of at least 3 minutes. The web series category will have only one award - The Best Web Series Award. Note – The web series will not be screened. The Director of the web series must be an IT employee working in India and should submit a valid proof of employment. The registration fees to participate will be Rs. 500. Short film മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് പുറമേ ഈ വർഷം വെബ് സീരീസ് കൾക്കായി ആയി മറ്റൊരു മത്സരവും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്, 3 മിനിട്ട് കുറയാത്ത 3 എപ്പിസോഡുകൾ ഉള്ള വെബ് സീരീസ്കൾക്ക് ഇതിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. Web series മ ത്സരവിഭാഗത്തിൽ "Best Web series" ആയി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ചിത്രത്തിനു മാത്രമേ പുരസ്‌കാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ.Web series കളുടെ പ്രദർശനം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതല്ല . Registration തുക 500 രൂപ ആയിരിക്കും. ചിത്രത്തിൻറെ സംവിധായകൻ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന ഐടി ജീവനക്കാർ ആയിരിക്കണം, ചിത്രത്തിൻറെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പൂർണമായും മേളയുടെ കമ്മിറ്റിയിൽ അധിഷ്ടിതം ആയിരിക്കും. - All entries must be submitted through an online file storage system such as the Google Drive, Dropbox or any other, before 10th December 2020. We do not accept any other form of submission.

- The festival committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.
ചലച്ചിത്ര കമ്മിറ്റിക്ക് ചിത്രങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കാനും തിരസ്കരിക്കാനുമുള്ള പൂർണ അധികാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
- The selected films for screening at the PQFF '20 will be announced no later than Sunday, 25th December 2020.

- PQFF '20 reserves the right to use excerpts and pictures from the film for promotion and public relation purposes.
മേളയുടെ പരസ്യത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സമർപ്പിച്ച ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളും വീഡിയോ ക്ലിപ്പുകളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
- Each participant may send as many entries as he/she wishes to. Each entry must include the tile of the film, synopsis/description, cast and crew details, and film posters. Each entry will attract the prescribed registration fee.

- Once registered, the registration fee will not be refunded even if the film is not selected for the competition.

- The short films will be screened through Prathidhwani Film Club's YouTube channel. To avoid misuse of your film, we highly recommend you to add the PQFF '20 watermark on your short film copy.

- Each short film will be assigned a private link and shared to the PQFF '20 registrants on the day of the screening.

- As per the discretion of the Director and under the written consent, the short film may continue to reside in the Prathidhwani Film Club's YouTube channel, and made public after the festival. However, if the Director do not wish to retain the film, the films will be removed from the channel after the festival.
സംവിധായകന്റെ വിവേചനാധികാരത്തിനും രേഖാമൂലമുള്ള സമ്മതത്തിനും അനുസൃതമായി, ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം പ്രതിധ്വനി ഫിലിം ക്ലബിന്റെ യൂട്യൂബ് ചാനലിൽ തുടരാം, ഒപ്പം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിനു ശേഷം പരസ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, ചിത്രം നിലനിർത്താൻ സംവിധായകൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിന് ശേഷം സിനിമകൾ ചാനലിൽ നിന്ന് നീക്കംചെയ്യും.
- Participating in the film festival implies acceptance of these regulations.

- Prathidhwani Film Club reserves the right to amend guidelines, selection criteria, awards, screening, and activities if necessary.

- Decisions of the festival authorities regarding all matters not expressly provided in these regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above shall be final and binding.
