SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN for an effective investigation into the murder of Rasila raju and Suggestions to ensure safety of employees

IT Employees of Technopark conducted a rally by slogan "Safety is Primary; No more Rasila s in IT Industry" and a candlelight vigil on the 2nd of February 2017 demanding an efficient and detailed probe on the brutal murder of Infosys employee Rasila Raju and to ensure proper security to lady employees by IT Companies. Prathidhwani, the Socio-cultural organisation of Technopark Employees, organised the protest inside Technopark. All the participants were unanimous in their opinion that there was a serious lapse in ensuring security and protection to Rasila and similar instances could happen anywhere in India.   1. Detailed and effective investigation into the murder of Rasila Raju.
  2. It should be made mandatory for all companies to conduct strict background verification of all kinds of employees to avoid violence and harassment against women employees.
  3. Women Complaint Cells need to be made mandatory in all companies to collect complaints from Women employees. There should be an audit mechanism to check regularly if it is working properly.
  4. Off time and/or overtime work of ladies should be allowed only in the presence of management such as HR Manager or Project manager in the premises.
  5. Adequate safety measures and safe transportation needs to be assured for all lady staff members who are serving late hours.
  6. Grievance cell should be formed by the government under labour department.
  7. The Government should conduct a detailed study about the current security to the lady employees in IT firms.

Prathidhwani will submit these suggestions to the Hon. Prime Minister of India and to the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala for immediate consideration and implementation. The signature campaign will end on 10th March 2017.
