The ‘In an Emergency Safe Bus Solutions’ system, a web-mobile technological convergence solution, was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for HRD, Shri Shashi Tharoor, at a function held at Jyothis Central School in Kazhakkoottam, on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram. The school has integrated the system in all their school buses. In most accidents involving school buses, the cause is often the negligence of the bus driver. According to a press release from Rain Concert, the Safe Bus Solution offers the perfect remedy as the bus driver will be under constant scrutiny. In case, violation of traffic rules and security measures by the driver occurs, this will be immediately captured by the Security Meter installed in the school bus which will update the web server on a real time basis and inform the school authorities or parents. Apart from these, in the event of an accident, there is also a provision to alert authorities and parents through the simple press of a SOS button which will send out an accident alert SMS. Abhilash R, CEO, Rain Concert Technologies said, “Safeguarding the lives of our fellow-beings, especially children, is our responsibility and it is our duty to respond immediately and actively in case an accident occurs in our vicinity. It is the lack of response from our end that can make or take a life. Everybody should understand that it is our morality and civility that should overpower our withdrawal instinct and save the life of a human-being.”
