Largest Short Film Festival for IT & ITeS Employees Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival (PQFF) invites entries for short films from IT & ITeS employees across India.
Prathidhwani Qisa, the prestigious film festival of IT & ITeS employees in Kerala that has been attracting film lovers across the state, is now inviting entries from the IT community across the country. The short film festival conducted by PRATHIDHWANI – The non profit welfare organisation of IT Employees in Kerala is stepping into its 14th edition this year. Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival (PQFF) has been the platform to showcase film talent by employees from over 350 IT companies in Kerala including Technopark, Infopark, and Cyber Park.
More than 450 short films by techies have been premiered at the PQFF over the past several years. The winners were awarded by acclaimed film personalities such as Shaji N Karun (2012), Vineeth Srinivasan (2013), Adoor Gopalakrishnan (2014), Shyamaprasad (2015), Jayaraj (2016), Dileesh Pothen (2017), Amal Neerad (2018), Khalid Rahman (2019), Vidhu Vincent (2020), Jeo Baby (2021), MF Thomas(2022), TK Rajeev Kumar(2023) and Soorya Krishnamoorthy ( 2024) in previous years.
The Best Film will receive a cash award of Rs 20,000/-. The second Best Film, the Best Script, and the Best Director, each will receive a cash award of Rs 10,000/-. The Best Actor - Male, the Best Actor - Female, Cinematographer, and Editor will receive special awards. All winners will also receive mementos.
To participate in the fest the Director of the short film must be an employee of an IT firm in India. The running time of the film should be between 3 to 45 minutes. Short films that had participated in the previous editions of the Qisa film festivals will not be eligible to participate this year. Detailed rules and regulations are given below.
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
1. PQFF- Short Film Festival for IT&ITeS Employees, is conducted by Prathidhwani, non profit welfare organisation of IT&ITeS employees. Screening of films will be held on 2025 December at Trivandrum

2. The contest is open to all IT &ITeS employees across India and the selection process is subjected to the film festival committee’s approval
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഐടി ജീവനക്കാർക്ക് ഈ മേളയുടെ ഭാഗമാകാവുന്നതാണ്,ചിത്രത്തിൻറെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പൂർണമായും മേളയുടെ കമ്മിറ്റിയിൽ അധിഷ്ടിതം ആയിരിക്കും.
3.The Director of the short film must be an employee of an IT firm in India. The Director must submit a passport-size photo and valid proof of employment, preferably a letter from HR.

4.Short films can be of any genre.
ഏത് ഗണത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ചിത്രവും സബ്മിറ്റ് ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്.
5. All submissions must be the intellectual property of the submitters & must have permission for use of all content rights including music contained in the film. Prathidhwani or Prathidhwani Film Club or PQFF is not responsible for unauthorized use of any copyrighted material.

6. The running time of the short films should not be less than 3 minutes excluding titles and credits and should not exceed 45 minutes.

7. All films must be submitted as USB for consideration by the selection committee (Data with 720p resolution is preferred).

8.Only films produced after 1st January 2024 will be eligible to participate. Films screened during the previous editions of PQFF are not eligible to contest.

9. Short films can be in any language. However, films other than English or Malayalam must be subtitled in English.
ഏതു ഭാഷയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളും സമർപ്പിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മലയാളം ഒഴികെയുള്ള ഭാഷകളിലുള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് സബ്ടൈറ്റിൽസ് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്
10. The festival committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.
ചലച്ചിത്ര കമ്മിറ്റിക്ക് ചിത്രങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കാനും തിരസ്കരിക്കാനുമുള്ള പൂർണ അധികാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
11. The selection of the Films for the PQFF will be announced prior to screening Schedule announcement.
തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ചിത്രങ്ങൾ ഏതൊക്കെയാണ് എന്ന് സ്ക്രീനിംഗ് ഷെഡ്യൂൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതിന് മുൻപേ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും.
12. PQFF reserves the right to use excerpts and pictures from the film for promotion and public relations purposes.
മേളയുടെ പരസ്യത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സമർപ്പിച്ച ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളും വീഡിയോ ക്ലിപ്പുകളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
13. No refund of travel expenses will be provided for the participants attending the festival.
മേളയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാനുള്ള യാത്രാ ചിലവുകൾ റീഫണ്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നതല്ല
14. Each participant can send as many entries as he/she likes, but with separate entry, preview USB, synopsis/description, still photographs, Posters should be enclosed.
ഒരാൾക്ക് എത്ര ചിത്രങ്ങൾ വേണമെങ്കിലും സമർപ്പിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.ഓരോ ചിത്രത്തിനും പ്രത്യേകം സബ്മിഷൻ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.

17. Once registered, the registration fee will not be refunded even if the film is not selected for the competition.

18. An internal jury from the Prathidhwani film club will be evaluating all the entries received and selecting the competition and Focus (non-competition) Short Films.

19. Participating in the film festival implies acceptance of these regulations.

20. Prathidhwani Film Club reserves the right to amend guidelines, selection criteria, awards, screening, and activities if necessary.

21. Decisions of the festival authorities regarding all matters not expressly provided in these regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above shall be final and binding.

22. It is mandatory that a representative preferably director of the movie should be available during qisa screening

Reels Competition - Guidelines for Participation
Eligibility
Submitter/Creator must be a techie.Theme & Format
• Recreate any movie scene of your choice.
• Reels must be shot in 9:16 aspect ratio.
• Maximum duration: 90 seconds, including the official QISA frame (3 seconds) at the end.
• Entries will be considered valid only if the official QISA frame is included.Submission Rules
• Each participant can submit a maximum of 4 reels.
• Reels should be submitted before December 1, 2025 (5:00 PM).
• Likes will be counted until December 4, 2025.Posting & Collaboration

Important Notes
• No malpractices (use of bots, fake likes, or automation). Such entries will be disqualified.
• The committee’s decision will be final and binding.
AI Micro-Film Festival
The whole film should be created with AI tools and applications. This includes dialogues. Green screen is not allowed.
The director of the film or primary film maker should be an employee of the IT industry in Kerala. Respective ID card should be submitted along with the entry.
Minimal human editing to be followed. Human editing and assembly are allowed for: sequencing, trimming, timing, and transitions, colour correction or grading, subtitles, titles, or basic motion graphics, sound mixing or balancing, file compression, export, and optimization.
Participants should disclose the AI tools & software used for creating their film along with the films submitted. A few screen shots of film making process should be handy in case any disputes come in terms of authority of the film output.
Maximum duration for the film is 3 minute and minimum duration will be 45 seconds.
Stock footage or fully human-shot clips are not allowed, unless used for blending as overlays or textures. 2
Script & Concept must be developed or co-written using AImodels (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, NotebookLM).
Voiceovers must use AI text-to-speech (TTS) or speech-to-speech (STS) models. No human-recorded vocals allowed.
Do not use logos, trademarks, or identifiable brand imagery.
Avoid generating real people, celebrities, or copyrighted fictional characters.
Films must be original works of the participants.
There is no theme or subject mandated for the films.
Frame rate 24, 25 or 30 fps to be followed.
Resolution of a minimum of 720p is needed.
Aspect ratio & orientation can be decided by the participants. However, issues related to that during the screening of films will not be owned by the PQFF committee.
Subtitles are mandatory for films with dialogues or audio other than Malayalam. Subtitles should always remain legible against the background.
We do not support or recommend any kind of piracy, plagiarism, or copyright/trademark/license violations. The legal responsibility for this sits entirely with the participants.
Disputes of misuse of human faces are subjected to the decision of PQFF committee. We promote & advocate participants to follow ethics in these matters.
Films that contain vulgar or politically insensitive contents are subjected to the decision of PQFF committee.
Participants must submit the film over a shared drive or pen drive. File name format should follow below sample:

The AI films created by participants may be used by the PQFF committee for promotional purposes of the PQFF or for screening inside IT parks.
Jury and PQFF executive committee decisions are final, no appeals or correspondence will be entertained
