About 130 participants from 15 postal circles will take part in the 28th edition of All India Postal Badminton Tournament 2013-14 will get underway here from September 2.
The five-day tournament, hosted by Kerala postal circle, would be held at the Technopark Indoor Badminton Court at nearby Kazhakootam, the IT corridor of the state, Shanthi Nair, Chief Postmaster General of the Circle told a press meet here on Saturday.
"Kerala Postal Circle had hosted the 17th edition of the event in the year 2002. The last tournament was held at Lucknow. About 130 participants from 15 postal circles in the country will be participating in the new edition," she said.
Antony K Jacob of Kerala, Anjana Bora from Assam, Amit Misra from Delhi and Vyshali Bharia from Gujarat are among the prominent players expected to participate in the tournament.
Kerala Sports Secretary Sivasankar IAS would inauguarate the meet and Vigilence and Anti Corruption Bureau ADGP R Sreelekha IPS would be the chief guest at the valedictory function on September 6, Nair added.
