In An Emergency (inE), an application developed by the Technopark, Trivandrum based Rain Concert Technologies, has been selected as one of the Top 10 Apps for the All India Nasscom AppFame Contest for applications in women security.

According to a release from the company, the inE is a unique safety solution that takes on a holistic approach and ‘responsible for the other attitude’ towards public safety with much importance for women security. Along with ensuring safety in the community, inE also empowers the youth of the community through employment opportunities and training to protect their area. inE is a service and business model innovation in the Safety sector.

Women safety, being the talk of the hour, requires a complete makeover from the traditional emergency response systems which are reactive and only takes care / intimates about the crisis situation. inE, on the other hand, is a proactive system that works on Responsible Safety and ‘Alerts, Validates & Acts’ upon the emergency. inE is operational in 300+ houses in several residential areas in Thiruvananthapuram for last 2 years, which has already reported many lifesaving cases.

The Nasscom jury rated the entries on various parameters like usability, design, market potential and application. This is a prestigious platform to showcase the innovation behind inE and its usability and practicality in crisis environments. The award event will increase the visibility of inE across media and enhance its ecosystem and market reach.

The Nasscom AppFame Awards are meant to recognize innovative applications that are game changers in the ecosystem. The forum provides app creators an opportunity to showcase their app`s unique value and gain visibility. At the same time, the awards display and enhance India`s talent and innovation capabilities in this area. The winning entries will be recognised at a grand event in New Delhi on June 19, 2013.
