In50hours, the entrepreneurship promotion workshop, at Technopark, from May 3-5, 2013

Image removed. The capital city’s first edition of In50hours, the entrepreneurship promotion workshop, will be held at Technopark, Trivandrum from May 3-5, 2013. The event promoted by Chennai based Startup Centre, and conducted in many cities across the country has finally come to Kerala through the efforts of Kerala Startups, a self help group consisting of start-ups from the State. The venue for the event will be the new facility of Digital Brand Group in the Thejaswini building inside the Technopark Campus. In50hrs is the Idea-to-Prototype Platform for IdeaSmiths, Developers, and Product Designers to come together to work on audacious ideas that solve real problems and build working prototypes (MVP) over a weekend. The Prototypes are demoed in the Demo Evening to Peers and a Jury. The event will see around 40-45 participants presenting their ideas to a panel of around fifty experts who will judge them, vote and select ideas, help develop market driven product prototypes and manufacturing plans and may even join up with them to launch the product. The entrepreneurship promotion environment in Kerala is expected to get a boost soon, as similar workshops like Reverse Pitch promoted by TiEcon, among others, are already in talks with Kerala Startups to conduct their events. The motto of the event is to connect the seniors in the industry to the community, so that the next crop of entrepreneurs can learn from their peers. Young student innovators at the event will get an exposure to their established peers. “We are excited to host the first In50hrs in Thiruvananthapuram. The entrepreneurship promotion scene in Kerala is backward compared to other cities. Our goal here is to prove that such events will work successfully here too. It will also aim to create a much more conducive environment for innovation, entrepreneurship and product development in the State,” said Babu Mohanan, Secretary, Kerala Startups. In50Hours has held around 20 events in Bangalore, Delhi, Pune and Chennai. The good response to these events is evident from the fact that more than 20 companies which started off at these events are doing well nationally. They were all start-ups which had their ideas shaped and developed and further prototyped at In50hrs workshops
