"Visionics" celebrates its 18th Anniversary in Technopark

Trivandrum: Visionics India, one of the first companies to start operations in Technopark, Trivandrum, has completed 18 years of operations in India. Visionics, a Visual Electronics Company is a joint venture by Norlinvest, Sweden, and Alpha-Imager, Bangalore. The company has over 25 years of experience in developing Electronic Design Automation (EDA) packages. EDWinXP, a printed circuit board (PCB) designing and Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) based software, is the main product of Visionics. It was on February 15, 1995, that Visionics India started operations in Technopark’s ‘Periyar’ building. The company moved into Technopark when the infrastructure and facilities were limited. But over these years, Visionics has shown that the company can develop world class software in India With its Principal office at Stockholm, Sweden, the company also has development centres in Russia, Estonia, and Japan. The Trivandrum centre is focused on R&D, marketing and sales for Asia-Pacific region, and technical support and training to customers across the world. Image removed. Apart from EDWinXP, the other products of Visionics are DocOne, SIMWinXP, and Macrosim. Over the years, Visionics has introduced new electronic design automation (EDA or ECAD) packages like CAD 1000, CompCAD, the EE Designer series and EDWin. It is used by electronic professionals in the industry, R&D laboratories and universities all over the world. Today, the company has a large installed base worldwide and in India too, EDWin is the preferred Electronics Design Software for Technical education. According to a statement from the company, Visionics has an impressive list of customers like Volvo, Ericsson, Bofors, GE, FCC (Federal Communications Commission), USA and Universities in Sweden, UK, USA, Malaysia, Columbia and several Engineering colleges in India including Kerala.
